JEANA YEJIN CHO

I am based in Los Angeles, exploring the depths of the art preparator/museum world. I seek opportunities to collaborate with artists who share the goal of bringing marginalized perspectives to the center.

Born in Daegu, South Korea and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Jeana Yejin Cho considers herself a “1.8-generation” Korean American, an identity she proudly holds as she navigates through industries where she is not common.

Prior to art preparation, Jeana worked in the film industry for 6 years. She served as Production Designer for narrative shorts and unscripted content, and has had further experience as Art Director, Set Decorator, Art Department Coordinator, and Prop Fabricator on commercials, music videos, and features.

Recently, Jeana has been seeking opportunities to apply her skills in the museum world. With her creative eye, attention to detail, and enjoyment creating with her hands, she quickly realized that art preparation encompassed what she was looking for. Jeana is currently an Art Preparator Apprentice at the Broad Museum as part of their Diversity Apprenticeship Program (DAP), having opportunities to train and work at various museums throughout LA. Some of her specific interests include mount-making, fabrication, framing, AV, and lighting, but remains open to learn as much as she can through this program. She looks forward to jump into the museum field as a well-rounded art preparator upon graduation in May 2026!
